This is a remote position that offers the opportunity to work with a team of seasoned professionals in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate has a strong background in capital management, statutory accounting, and insurance. This role is critical to our company's financial health, as it involves developing financial models to forecast capital and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities: • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles (STAT) and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) standards. • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast capital, aiding in strategic decision-making and risk management. • Collaborate with the executive team to develop strategies and plans for capital management. • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Work with external auditors and manage internal controls, ensuring all audit issues are resolved promptly. • Familiarize yourself with NAIC risk-based capital model and AM Best capital adequacy ratio model for property & casualty companies. • Participate in quarterly in-person meetings and other corporate events as required. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. • A minimum of 7 years of experience in statutory accounting and capital management • Extensive knowledge of statutory accounting principles (STAT) and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) standards. • Proven experience in developing financial models to forecast capital. • Familiarity with NAIC risk-based capital model and AM Best capital adequacy ratio model for property & casualty companies. • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. • Ability to travel for required in-person meetings on a quarterly basis (1 trip per quarter for about 4 days). • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail. • Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills. • Strong ethical standards and a high level of integrity.
