Canadian Tire Corporation is a trusted company in Canada, seeking a Data Science Associate for their New Graduate Program starting in 2026. This role involves developing analytical expertise and working cross-functionally within the data analytics team through two progressive 12-month rotations in Decision Support teams, focusing on retail analytics, data science, and business intelligence. Responsibilities Provide subject matter expertise and create a broad range of data driven solutions by applying a variety of techniques to build out complex models Responsible for providing subject matter expertise, analytics, and insights to recommend actions that will enable optimal business decisions and/or resolve complex business problems Identify opportunities to drive business growth & value Provide data visualization expertise and interpretation of data into meaningful insights or visuals to help facilitate business understanding of outcomes and recommendations Responsible for the design/development of complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards to support business needs; ensure alignment of metrics across the organization Participating in projects by analyzing approaches, processes, and tools to support the business data strategy Skills You are working toward an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related field Strong statistical/analytical skills are preferred Well-versed in one or more of these listed areas: Power BI Dashboard Development, Big Data - Predictive Analytics, Optimization, Machine Learning – Data/Text Mining, Programming, Algorithm Development, Automation, Data Visualization, Natural Language Processing Excellent verbal & written communication with ability to work collaboratively effectively in a team environment Possess technical knowledge and on hand experience with SQL, Python, Spark, Azure Cloud Tools, Databricks, Power BI and AI-Powered Tools (CoPilot, ChatGPT, Agents) Creative and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business Critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business Collaborative team players with superior communication and influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups If you're curious, ready to take on new challenges and open to doing things differently to help us evolve rapidly – we are looking for you Benefits Comprehensive benefits and retirement programs Performance incentives, Continuing Education Programs Other perks to support your well-being Career growth opportunities and product discounts Store discounts Supported learning through our Triangle Learning Academy Canadian Tire Profit Sharing Retirement and savings programs for eligible employees Mental health benefits in the amount of $5,000 per year for benefits-eligible employees and their families, including total well-being, and mental health tools and resources for all employees.
