Job Title: AI Automation Engineer/Architect (Contract Role – Potential to Convert to Direct Hire) Location: 100% Remote (East Coast preferred) Must reside in one of the following states for consideration: PA, MD, NJ, VA, NY, CT, MA, TX Core Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM EST (flexible based on project needs). Must be eligible to work in the US / NO sponsorship This position is not available for C2C About the Role We are seeking an experienced AI Automation Engineer/Architect to architect and implement next-generation AI systems and automation frameworks. This position is ideal for someone with deep expertise in LLMs, agentic AI workflows, and scalable cloud-based systems. This is a contract role with the potential to evolve into a direct hire position as the AI program continues to expand. Key Responsibilities Architect and develop AI agent frameworks: Design and deploy end-to-end RAG pipelines and AI agent workflows using LangGraph, ADK, and Vertex AI. Lead model deployment and optimization: Fine-tune Gemini-based models, improve performance, and manage cost-efficient production pipelines. Establish AI engineering standards: Build and document best practices for scalable, maintainable AI agent development. Collaborate with consulting and internal engineering teams: Oversee architecture reviews and transition AI systems from outsourced partners to in-house management. Ensure scalability and reliability: Design, deploy, and optimize production-grade AI workflows in a secure cloud environment. Top 3 Priorities Architect and approve consulting work from a team of 7, transitioning efforts to internal support. Develop and deploy scalable Agentic AI frameworks using LangGraph, ADK, and Vertex AI. Define and implement AI engineering standards across development teams. Must Haves Bachelor’s degree (preferred). 6+ years of hands-on experience in system admin/engineering and AI engineering roles. Proven experience designing and implementing AI Agent Frameworks using LangGraph, LangChain, or Google ADK/Agent Engine. Deep expertise in LLMs (e.g., Gemini) and RAG system design. Strong proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI. Solid programming skills in Python. Understanding of agentic workflows, including planning, tool use, autonomous task execution, and memory management. Experience with vector databases (e.g., Redis) and embedding models. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code for AI systems. Ability to design, deploy, and optimize production-grade AI systems in a scalable, secure cloud environment. Preferred / Nice to Have: Full-stack experience with React.js, Next.js, or Vercel. Exposure to MLOps or Terraform (infrastructure-as-code). Experience in cloud-native or enterprise-scale AI/ML environments.
