AI Prompt Engineering Instructor (8-Week Online Course)

Upright Education is looking for an engaging professional to serve as the Instructor for our 6-week AI Prompt Engineering Certificate Course. This is a part-time, short-term contract role ideal for someone who actively uses AI in their professional work and enjoys teaching others. Our learners are working adults exploring AI for the first time. They want practical skills they can apply immediately — from writing better prompts to building workflows and custom GPTs. Your role is to guide them through weekly 1-hour live sessions, provide thoughtful feedback on assignments, and foster confidence with AI. What You’ll Do - Host one 60-minute live session per week (7–8 PM EST) for 8 weeks. Sessions are hands-on and focus on practice, not lectures. - **We are hiring for our February cohort that runs Tuesdays, 7:00–8:00 PM EST, from February 10 through April 7 - Facilitate live activities and exercises such as writing prompts, refining outputs, or building small workflows. - Provide weekly feedback on learner assignments (about 30 minutes per week, ungraded but constructive). - Engage with learners in Discord by answering questions and encouraging participation between sessions. - Model Upright’s teaching philosophy: safe experimentation, iteration, and practical application of AI. Skills We’re Looking For - Professional experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) as part of your job or client work — not just personal or experimental use - Strong understanding of prompt engineering and how prompt structure, context, and iteration impact outputs - Experience designing practical AI use cases or workflows (e.g., marketing, operations, HR, analytics, consulting) - Teaching, mentoring, or training experience (formal or informal) - Strong communication and facilitation skills — able to keep a session engaging and effective in just 1 hour - Reliability and professionalism (showing up prepared, on time, and responsive) Commitment & Compensation Duration: 8 weeks Time: ~15–16 hours total (prep, live sessions, feedback) Pay: $875 flat rate Location: Remote, all live sessions are conducted via Zoom Growth & Community - Opportunity to teach additional cohorts, as new sessions start throughout the month on different days of the week - Join a community of instructors to share best practices, support one another, and stay aligned on teaching standards - Dedicated learner support and career services teams available throughout the program How to Apply: Please submit: Your resume or CV.
