Job Title: Hardware Engineer We are seeking a talented Hardware Engineer to design and route NXP i.MX-based System-on-Modules (SOMs) and Single-Board Computers (SBCs) that incorporate complex high-speed interfaces. The role requires designing, routing, and bringing up complex embedded boards, ensuring they are production-ready for IoT and wireless embedded solutions. Remote flexibility 2-3 days/week. Responsibilities + Complete lifecycle PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer. + Route high-speed digital signals and memory interfaces including DDR, eMMC, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and LVDS. + Design and validate power distribution networks and ensure signal integrity. + Collaborate with software, mechanical, and test teams for board bring-up and verification. + Generate and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), design documentation, and PCB fabrication packages. + Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testing (DFT) reviews, and participate in design reviews. Essential Skills + Advanced proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic and routing. + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. + Proven experience in designing embedded SOM/SBC hardware, particularly with NXP i.MX. + Strong understanding of high-speed design, impedance control, EMC, and power regulation. + Familiarity with communication buses such as USB, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, LVDS, and SDIO. + Excellent documentation and collaboration skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with IoT or wireless product design. + Hands-on experience with board bring-up and debugging. + Experience with compliance and validation testing. Work Environment + The role requires working closely with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver reliable hardware solutions. The preferred location for this position is onsite in the Milwaukee area. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
