Analyst, Privacy (Legal)
DaVita Kidney Care is a leading provider of kidney care services, and they are seeking a Privacy Analyst to join their Legal Privacy team. The Privacy Analyst will investigate potential privacy incidents, assist with privacy reviews, and support DaVita's integrated kidney care operations. Responsibilities Drive the investigation process for potential privacy incidents stemming from DaVita and IKC operations, or identified through Privacy Office monitoring activities Assist in the privacy review of materials, projects, and new initiatives to support DaVita IKC operations by analyzing risk based on privacy policies, principles and best practices Participate in committees, projects, and other workgroups in support of DaVita IKC operations Manage intake and triage of contracts for privacy legal review Develop and maintain a working knowledge of privacy laws and regulations applicable to DaVita IKC operations and the healthcare industry, such as HIPAA Assist on special projects with other privacy team members to advance the program’s maturity Support development and privacy review of DaVita IKC and other enterprise applications by analyzing risk based on privacy and security policies, principles and best practices in accordance with federal, local, and international privacy laws and regulations Travel required: Minimal (approximately 5%) Skills Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a health care, technology, or business discipline Demonstrated ability to function as a strong member of a highly motivated team Demonstrated relationship-building skills; ability to appreciate people with different backgrounds and points of view and create an environment where everyone belongs Personal integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions quickly Adaptable and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity Hands-on, efficient, and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership A commitment to personal and professional growth Candid and personally secure; ability and willingness to seek and receive feedback constructively Ability to work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain patience in high-pressure situations Possesses a strong work ethic and humor; able to work well under pressure and manage priorities in a fast-moving, dynamic company Experience in healthcare is preferred Experience or certification in HIPAA, privacy, or security is preferred Experience relating to compliance with state and federal privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, state breach notification laws) is preferred HIPAA, privacy and/or security certifications (IAPP CIPP, CIPM, etc.) is desirable Benefits 401k match Healthcare coverage A broad range of other benefits Company Overview DaVita means “to give life,” reflecting our proud history as leaders in dialysis—an essential, life-sustaining treatment for those living with end stage kidney disease (ESKD).
