Application Developer – Access, SQL Server, and Power BI

We are seeking Application Developer will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting applications that utilize Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Power BI. The role will involve addressing issues across both the Access front end and SQL database back end, developing data connections and visualizations in Power BI, and ensuring seamless integration with the existing Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The developer will work closely with business users to gather requirements, implement system updates, and enhance reporting capabilities to improve business decision-making. • **This is 3 month contract role. 100% remote*** Key Responsibilities • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing Microsoft Access applications, including front-end forms, queries, and reports. • Manage and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and proper linkage with Access front-end components. • Design, develop, and publish Power BI dashboards and reports using data from Access and SQL Server. • Add new data fields, tables, and relationships to support evolving business requirements. • Recreate and develop new Power BI reports to replace or enhance existing Access reports. • Update and maintain the data upload process into the ATS, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Implement new system validations and business rules to strengthen data quality and compliance. • Design and configure user permission sets and access controls within the application environment. • Perform data cleanup and migration activities as needed. • Develop and maintain system documentation, including workflows, data dictionaries, and user guides. • Provide cross-training to users and team members on new or updated ATS functionality. • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to understand reporting and process improvement needs. Basic Qualification • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. • 3–5 years of experience developing and maintaining applications in Microsoft Access and SQL Server environments. • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards. • Strong understanding of relational database design, data modeling, and SQL queries. • Experience with data validation, data migration, and ETL processes. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and documentation abilities, with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) or similar enterprise systems. • Knowledge of Power Automate or Power Apps for workflow automation. • Experience supporting system integrations or API-based data exchanges. • Understanding of data governance and reporting best practices.
