Our Immigration Department is currently undergoing strategic growth and transformation, transitioning from court-focused work to comprehensive USCIS petition processing, with plans to launch business immigration services mid-year. We are building a scalable, systems-driven department where every team member contributes to excellent client service and operational efficiency. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Remote Legal Assistant to join our Immigration Department. This role will support our immigration paralegals and attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services to our clients while working remotely from Argentina. The ideal candidate will have prior legal experience (immigration law experience preferred but not required), exceptional organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication in both English and Spanish, and a commitment to professional growth. Key ResponsibilitiesCase Support & Administration • Assist paralegals and attorneys with case preparation, including gathering and organizing client documents • Prepare and format immigration forms and supporting documentation under supervision • Maintain accurate case files and records in our case management system (Cerenade/e-immigration) • Conduct client intake interviews in English and/or Spanish • Schedule appointments, consultations, and client meetings • Monitor case deadlines and provide proactive reminders to the legal team Client Communication • Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and case management portal • Provide case status updates and gather additional documentation as needed • Translate documents and communications between English and Spanish • Maintain professional, empathetic communication with clients navigating complex immigration processes Document Management & Quality Control • Organize and maintain digital case files according to firm naming conventions and protocols • Review documents for completeness and accuracy before submission to paralegals • Assist with preparation of FOIA requests and responses • Support quality control processes by following established checklists and procedures Administrative Support • Log all client communications and case activities in MyCase and Cerenade systems • Assist with billing tasks, time entry, and invoice preparation • Maintain organized Google Drive folders with case-related documents • Participate in team meetings and training sessions • Support department projects and special initiatives as assigned Required Qualifications • Fluent bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) — non-negotiable • Minimum 1-2 years of administrative or legal assistant experience (immigration law experience preferred but not required) • Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software systems • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office workspace • Ability to work during U.S. Eastern Time Zone business hours (or with significant overlap) • Professional written and verbal communication skills • Strong sense of confidentiality and ethics • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience with U.S. immigration law, USCIS forms, or immigration case types (I-130, I-485, N-400, U-Visa, DACA, VAWA) • Familiarity with legal case management software (Cerenade, MyCase, or similar platforms) • Paralegal certificate or coursework in legal studies • Experience working remotely in a legal or professional services environment • Knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) • Customer service experience in a professional setting What We Offer • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications • Fully remote position with flexible work-from-home arrangement • Comprehensive training program with documented procedures and ongoing support • Opportunity to work with an experienced immigration team led by a department manager with over 20 years of experience • Professional development opportunities and clear career progression path • Exposure to diverse immigration case types and U.S. immigration law • Supportive, values-driven work environment that emphasizes teamwork and continuous improvement • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives Compensation Salary Range: Competitive, commensurate with experience • Entry-level (0-1 year legal experience): Starting salary to be discussed based on qualifications • Intermediate (2-3 years legal/immigration experience): Increased compensation reflecting experience • Advanced (3+ years immigration-specific experience): Premium compensation for demonstrated expertise Final salary determination will be based on a thorough assessment of candidate qualifications, relevant experience, language proficiency, technical skills, and cultural fit.
