Assessment Item Copy Editor (Contract)

This position requires a professional with exceptional editing abilities and a passion for delivering polished and precise content. As a Copy editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials for test development programs and other projects. Key Responsibilities • Proofread, format, and copy edit a variety of assessment items with meticulous attention to detail. • Edit content specifically for test development programs, adhering to project guidelines. • Ensure consistency and accuracy in grammar, punctuation, and style, with a strong grasp of Chicago style. • Collaborate with writers, subject matter experts, and project teams to maintain high-quality standards. • Utilize strong computer skills to work efficiently with G Suite, Microsoft Office, and other software tools as needed. Qualifications • Exceptional writing, formatting, proofreading, and copy-editing abilities. • Demonstrated experience in editing and writing for test development programs. • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy. • Superior knowledge of Chicago style. • Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office applications. • A Bachelor of Arts in English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred. • At least two years of professional copy editing experience. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, use a computer, and organize paper materials. Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, contracted position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
