Assistant General Counsel (Remote) Do you have extensive experience handling cybersecurity legal matters, including incident response and compliance? About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and strategic Assistant General Counsel, Cybersecurity to lead legal support for cybersecurity incidents, compliance, and regulatory matters. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with internal partners—including IT, risk, and privacy teams—to help shape and maintain strong cybersecurity policies and practices. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of seven years of experience in cybersecurity law, with additional background in privacy and litigation, which is considered a strong plus. Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered for a Senior Counsel title. Key Responsibilities: • Providing legal support related to cybersecurity incidents, compliance, and contract negotiations. • Staying updated on evolving laws and regulations in cybersecurity, privacy, AI, and data governance. • Collaborating with IT, risk, and privacy professionals to refine cybersecurity policies and best practices. • Supporting the Chief Information Security Officer and team on incident response, vendor contracts, and risk mitigation. • Liaising with the Data Privacy team to address cyber-related legal concerns. • Engaging with clients, regulators, vendors, and internal teams regarding cybersecurity and privacy matters. • Managing outside counsel and vendors engaged in cybersecurity legal issues. • Educating the Legal Department on emerging cybersecurity laws and risks. • Handling litigation, compliance, and contract-related legal matters as assigned. Requirements: • Hold a Juris Doctorate from a top-tier law school. • Maintain an active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. • Possess at least seven years of experience in cybersecurity law. More senior-level candidates will also be considered. • Demonstrate expertise in cybersecurity best practices and incident response. • Show experience handling investigations and working with agencies like the DOJ or state Attorneys General. • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. • Exhibit a high sense of urgency while maintaining quality and attention to detail. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for bonuses or incentives.
