Associate Engineer I

The Associate Engineer I will assist with reviewing electrical design drawings for renewable energy projects, develop specifications, and provide oversight during construction and implementation. Responsibilities Review and provide feedback on electrical design and vendor equipment drawings, including array layouts, site electrical distribution plan, one-lines, and grounding drawings Review and provide comments for the electrical calculations including short circuit, cable and conduit sizing, grounding, voltage drop, incident energy, and relay coordination Conduct field inspections, which require the interpretation and implementation of contract specifications and drawings; report any deficiencies Attend factory witness testing for electrical equipment Support commissioning and testing program for new commercial solar projects Skills Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred) 0-2 years of experience with an engineering design firm or construction management firm with an emphasis on renewable energy projects and electrical power system design Experience with the National Electrical Code and electrical standards Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills Ability to scale NJRCEV assets is necessary and access rooftops Travel required - 25% - 35% Solar array design experience is preferred Experience in commercial solar projects is plus Knowledge of electrical equipment, including medium voltage switchgear, generators, inverters and transformers preferred AutoCAD and PVSyst software experience preferred Benefits Medical insurance coverage from day 1 401k vesting immediate Employee insurance and medical plans, including prescription, vision and dental benefits 401(k) program with generous company match Company stock purchase plan Wellness programs, including free on and off-site fitness centers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement program Paid time off including paid holidays Company Overview They count on us to maintain their quality of life, today, tomorrow and for generations to come.
