Associate Financial Analyst - Internal Medicine, Clinical
Komen Graduate Training Program UT MDACC is seeking an Associate Financial Analyst to apply professional accounting principles and techniques for the Division of Internal Medicine. The role involves coordinating financial business analysis and reporting, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. Responsibilities Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring processes to ensure that all Division of Internal Medicine revenue and expenses are captured appropriately and ensure sufficient documentation exists to support the transactions Research documentation issues to provide recommendations for accurate document compliance guidelines as appropriate Assists in the coordination of annual preparation and submission of fiscal budgets under Division of Internal Medicine and coordinates with all the departments and sections to prepare for budget supporting data and documentation Collaborates with the Department Administrators, Clinical Administrative Directors, and all pertinent faculty and staff to review prior year expenses, revenue projections, budget revisions, etc. and to assist with developing the budget Assists with projections for revenue and expenses by utilizing and analyzing departmental, divisional, and institutional data Prepares the monthly financial reports Produces chart and graphs information based on data extracted from institution financial systems Assists with a quality review of selected financial reports before they are disseminated Presents to and trains Department Chairs and Department Administrators, faculty members and mid-level providers, and department personnel on financial reporting activities Maintains up-to-date data and information for Divisional reports and provider productivity Assists in identifying trends and shifts in billing and expense practices and researches/reports to leadership as appropriate Prepares weekly and monthly financial monitoring and reconciliation reporting in compliance with financial controls requirements Assists with a quality review of selected financial reports before they are disseminated With direction and oversight, initiates contact with departmental representatives, other agencies or personnel to resolve problems or questions regarding accounting/finance related data items Prepares departmental responses for institutional reports detailing variances and opportunities Other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related business specialty Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present financial data accurately Proficient in preparing reports, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with institutional financial controls Ability to produce, interpret, and analyze financial reports, including income statements, statements of operations, and budget variance analyses Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with department administrators, clinical directors, and faculty Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly Commitment to accuracy, operational efficiency, and supporting both clinical and research components within the Division of Internal Medicine Benefits Paid employee medical benefits (zero premium) starting on first day for employees who work 30 or more hours per week Group Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D and Disability coverage Paid time off (PTO) and Extended Illness Bank (EIB) paid leave accruals Paid institutional holidays, wellness leave, childcare leave and other paid leave programs Tuition Assistance Program after six months of service Teachers Retirement System defined-benefit pension plan and two voluntary retirement plans Employer paid life, AD&D and an illness-related reduced salary pay program Health Savings Account and Dependent Care Reimbursement flexible spending accounts Fertility benefits State of Texas longevity pay Extensive wellness, recognition, fitness, employee health programs and employee resource groups Company Overview Through generous funding from Susan G.
