Audit Manager – Nonprofit & Single Audit Focus (Fully Remote, U.S.)
We’re a nonprofit-only CPA firm looking for an Audit Manager with real nonprofit and Single Audit experience who wants ownership, repeatable work, and a clear path to Senior Manager — without waiting years for someone above them to move on. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands nonprofit audits: smaller organizations, funding-driven deadlines, and a steady cadence of engagements that actually close. What this role actually looks like • Managing a portfolio of smaller nonprofit audits (most clients ~$1M–$5M in revenue) with repeatable processes and predictable timelines • Leading and reviewing Single Audits end-to-end (Uniform Guidance experience required) • Owning planning, execution, and audit quality — not just final review • Working directly with nonprofit leadership teams whose funding depends on your work • Reviewing work prepared by associates and seniors and helping them improve quickly • Using QuickBooks Online extensively (many clients live there) • Coordinating timelines and deliverables so audits move efficiently and don’t turn into fire drills This is not a back-office review role. You’ll run engagements, make judgment calls, and be trusted to execute. This role is a strong fit if • You have meaningful nonprofit audit experience (not just one nonprofit client years ago) • You’ve owned or meaningfully led Single Audits • You’re currently an Audit Manager, or a strong Senior ready for promotion • You’re organized, decisive, and comfortable managing multiple engagements • You like structure, standards, and accountability — but not unnecessary bureaucracy Requirements • CPA license (required) • Nonprofit audit experience (required) • Single Audit / Uniform Guidance experience (required) • Experience managing or reviewing audits end-to-end • QuickBooks Online experience strongly preferred Growth & Promotion This role has a clear path to Senior Manager. Advancement is based on performance, leadership, and execution — not tenure or internal politics. Why Charity CPAs • We work exclusively with nonprofits • High-volume, repeatable audit work with clean processes • Fully remote, U.S.-based team • Leadership that actively practices audit — not just manages it If you want real responsibility, meaningful nonprofit work, and a growth path that doesn’t require waiting forever — we’d like to talk. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance • Work from home Application Question(s): • Have you managed or led nonprofit audit engagements end-to-end? • Have you worked on Single Audits under Uniform Guidance? • Have you acted as the primary reviewer or in-charge on audits?
