AV Technician/Content Creator

The Comedy Bar* is looking for a talented and reliable AV Tech / Content Creator* to help us run smooth shows and produce content that captures the energy and magic of our stage. This is a part-time position perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and wants hands-on experience in live production and digital media. What You’ll Do Show Production (AV Tech Duties) • Set up and monitor microphones, lighting, and audio during live shows • Run video and sound cues as needed during performances • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and calmly • Work directly with performers and show managers to ensure tech needs are met • Ensure all AV equipment is set up, tested, and stored properly Content Creation • Capture video and photo content during live performances and special events • Edit and assemble video clips for social media, marketing, and internal use • Organize and manage digital media assets • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, reels, and promos • Contribute creative ideas for highlighting talent, shows, and behind-the-scenes moments Operational Support • Assist with guest flow and show transitions when needed • Support the host or floor team in clearing tables, guiding guests, or resetting the room • Help manage line flow and crowd control during sold-out performances • Jump in to assist with other venue tasks when not actively running tech or capturing content • Contribute to keeping the space clean, safe, and ready for showtime What We’re Looking For • Must be 21 or older and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays • Prior experience in live AV tech, stage management, or digital content production • Proficiency in video/photo editing tools • Comfort operating microphones, soundboards, lighting equipment, and DSLR cameras • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Ability to stay focused under pressure in a live event environment • Highly organized with a strong eye for detail and visual storytelling • Willingness to be flexible and help wherever needed during live operations Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) • Experience shooting and editing short-form video for TikTok or Instagram Reels • Graphic design or motion graphics skills Perks of the Job • Flexible scheduling • Access to live comedy shows on non-working nights • Food and beverage discounts • A fun, collaborative work environment • Opportunities to grow into larger roles • A chance to build a portfolio of live entertainment content Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $25.00 per hour Benefits: • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Paid time off Schedule: • Night shift • Weekends as needed Experience: • Live Event / AV Technical : 1 year (Required) Shift availability: • Night Shift (Required) Ability to Commute: • Chicago, IL 60611 (Required) Work Location: In person Apply tot his job
