Backend Engineer, Affiliated Trading
Job Description: • Build and maintain the infrastructure underlying Kalshi Trading's trading operations • Develop robust, high-performance event-driven systems and APIs • Work with relational databases (Postgres) and write concurrent code • Operate and integrate with AWS services (RDS, ECS) and stream processing (Kafka) • Potentially design or improve order management and trading systems • Shape and influence the role and the direction of Kalshi Trading's engineering efforts • Collaborate within a small team on greenfield projects and take ownership of deliverables Requirements: • At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer • Experience building robust high performance event-driven systems and APIs • Very comfortable with relational databases (e.g. Postgres) • Experience writing concurrent code • Familiarity with the AWS stack (especially RDS and ECS) • Familiarity with stream processing (Kafka) • Experience directly building trading systems including order management (preferred) • Proficiency in Golang (preferred) • Familiarity with frontend development (preferred) • Familiarity with machine learning, neural networks, or generative AI including LLMs (preferred) • Experience trading on Kalshi or other prediction markets (preferred) Benefits: • Equity • Benefits Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
