Bioinformatics Scientist (Redwood City)

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable senior bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience and interest in developing cutting edge assays and algorithms in the liquid biopsy space (including molecular residual disease testing, therapeutic response monitoring, therapy selection, complete genomic profiling, and diagnostics). Responsibilities: Develop novel assays, algorithms, machine learning and statistical models to detect oncology related biomarkers from cell free next-generation sequencing (NGS) data Conduct analyses applying deep genomic and epigenomic knowledge to derive key insights from large multi-modal datasets Execute experiments to characterize performance and support various regulatory submissions. Produce high quality and detailed documentation for all projects. Communicate results with other scientific teams as well as product and bioinformatics leadership. Collaborate with other scientists and engineers Qualifications: Must have completed a Ph.D. or a Masters with 3+ years of industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Computer Science Computational skills using Python and/or R Proven scientific reputation as demonstrated by scientific publication and/or contribution to successful product development in industry Experience in developing NGS pipelines using contemporary tools for processing and analyzing NGS data (including epigenetics, DNA, RNA) within a high performance computing environment Knowledge of creating statistical models and developing predictive or prognostic algorithms Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills Self-driven and works well in interdisciplinary teams #LI-SH1 #LI-Hybrid The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from California and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.
