Cash Accountant
Alterra Mountain Company is a family of iconic year-round mountain destinations, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The Cash Accountant will be responsible for various monthly accounting functions related to Alterra Mountain Company resorts and entities, including analyzing bank accounts and ensuring a complete month-end close process. Responsibilities Responsible for analyzing, reconciling and researching bank accounts and credit card transactions for individual resorts and entities as assigned in accordance with US GAAP Ensure a complete and accurate month-end close process within established deadlines of the company Prepare journal entries to ensure appropriate supporting documentation is included as well as compliance with GAAP, company policies, and company procedures Prepare periodic balance sheet account reconciliations including AR depository, credit card, payroll, AP disbursement, and lodging in accordance with company standards with sufficient detail Research and resolve issues related to account reconciliations and outstanding items by contacting the appropriate individuals to gather information, escalating matters appropriately, and proposing and implementing solutions Understand and communicate non-routine cash transactions and significant variances to stakeholders across various levels of the finance & accounting department Understand the flow of information through the bank, POS, and general ledger systems Assist with the ongoing effort to streamline the cash reconciliation process through automation Ad hoc projects as needed Skills Organized in tasks. Excellent follow through and timely response to all inquiries Ability to maintain a consistently high level of productivity and accuracy in a fast paced, growth environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
