Responsibilities + Collect and analyze project data. + Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents. + Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates. + Produce complete plan sets. + Collaborate with other design disciplines. + Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. + Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Essential Skills + BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. + 0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering. + Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer. + Knowledge of NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications is a plus. + Experience with NCDOT highway design is a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous. + Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, land development, site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, site design, and site planning. + EIT certification and project management skills are beneficial. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
