Civil Engineer - Energy Practice (Remote/Hybrid)

The Opportunity: Our National Energy Practice continues to grow, and Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineer to support a variety of energy projects from concept to completion in a dynamic consulting environment. This role will contribute to the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, working closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience and deliver innovative solutions. With decades of national experience, Tetra Tech offers a wealth of technical knowledge and a strong understanding of energy development-from planning, siting, evaluation, and permitting to design, operation, and maintenance. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. The position is hybrid or remote eligible, with a hybrid schedule preferred. Your Role: • Support civil engineering design for renewable energy, energy storage, utility transmission, and related projects. • Prepare stormwater management plans (including SWPPPs) and hydrologic modeling. • Support nationwide engineering and design initiatives across the Tetra Tech network. • Assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal review, RFIs, and site visits. • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide feasibility reviews, conceptual design, permitting, and detailed design services. • Ensure all work complies with internal procedures, legislative requirements, and industry standards. • Maintain a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning. • Support project managers and engineering leads in plan development, documentation, and project delivery. • Work safely at all times and promptly report any health and safety incidents or concerns. • Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. • 5-10 years of professional civil engineering experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to achieve licensure within 3 years. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Preferred Attributes • Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure-related design projects. • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced consulting environment. A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed. Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience. Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
