Cloud / Platform Automation Engineer II (US)

About the position The Cloud / Platform Automation Engineer II (US) develops and maintains technical solutions that adhere to engineering and architectural design principles while meeting business requirements. Provides technical expertise with a focus on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security; includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards. Responsibilities • Coding in typescript, java script, NodeJS, python, groovy, Golang • Design and Managing Cloud Platforms and automation pipelines • Ansible development, especially writing collections, playbooks, and modules • Take business, Enterprise Architecture, system performance and development standards requirements, then develop functional, technical designs for an application and/or system. • Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase, identify gaps or redesign as needed. • Respect TD's technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines, business technology architecture, and risk and production capacity. • Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting milestones and ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget, and adhere to the corporate quality and security standards. • Identify ways to minimize cost, play a role in introducing strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience. • Conduct code reviews to address quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance. • Support knowledge management processes and ensure knowledge is codified, monitored, tracked, and managed. • Ensure design leverages existing reusable components, traces back to business requirements, and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind. • Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application. • Provide technical support to promptly resolve escalated incidents/outages. Requirements • Bachelor's or Graduate degree • Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering) • 7 + years relevant experience Nice-to-haves • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate in Computer Science or related field. • Coding/development experience • Development skills in typescript, java script, NodeJS, python, groovy, Golang • Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms/Infrastructure and automation pipelines • Experience with Hashicorp Terraform • Proficient with Ansible and Ansible Tower, especially writing collections, playbooks, and modules. • vRA/vRO development and/or infrastructure knowledge.
