Commercial Lines Associate Underwriter
Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company is a mutual insurance company with over 140 years of experience in property-and-casualty insurance. They are seeking a Commercial Lines Associate Underwriter to create strong agency relationships and develop profitable premium growth through policy processing and technical support for new and renewal business. Responsibilities Engages in the daily underwriting and processing of new and renewal business, endorsements, and premium audit transactions Utilizes established practices, processes, and procedures to renew and write new policies based on underwriting authority Reviews new and renewal business application documents and gathers additional information as needed to accurately underwrite policies Understands rating methodology and coverage Performs special projects and other duties as assigned Skills Ability to follow processes and maintain strong attention to detail Knowledge of industry practices, standards, and underwriting concepts Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages Effective oral and written communication skills Demonstrated negotiation and relationship-building skills Ability to multitask and solve basic problems Flexibility to handle various assignments Valid and unrestricted driver's license with an acceptable driving record Bachelor's degree in insurance or finance; experience in lieu of a degree acceptable AU, INS, or other insurance related certification Benefits Medical insurance options and other standard employee benefits, including dental insurance, vision benefits, life insurance, and more!
