Job Description: Comagine Health is looking for a part-time Consultant, Indigenous Partnerships at 0.75 FTE for a national program that focuses on promoting optimal health and well-being of American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) peoples through quality improvement initiatives. The Consultant will serve as an expert convenor and facilitator and play a critical role in indigenous community engagement in partnership with program leadership and team members. Preferred Candidate Time Zones Residency based on contract location: Pacific, Mountain, Central In collaboration with program leadership, AIAN subject matter expert (SME), and other team members, the Consultant, Indigenous Partnerships is responsible for fostering regional and national partnerships with indigenous community leaders, health care executives, etc., to ensure alignment with other existing initiatives and to avoid duplication. The Consultant, Indigenous Partnerships will work closely with the team’s indigenous SME and ensure that all indigenous engagement is carried out with cultural safety and respect for tribal sovereignty, traditions, and values. TheConsultant, Indigenous Partnerships will directly report to the Senior Director, Patient Safety in the Systemwide Quality Improvement (SQI) Department. Within the team structure, the Consultant, Indigenous Partnerships will report (under matrix management) to the Director, Patient Safety who serves as the Scope of Work Director for the program. Typical Job Duties: Guided by the organization’s values, theConsultant, Indigenous Partnershipscontributes to achieving Comagine Health’s mission and vision and their typical duties and responsibilities include: ·Collaborate with program leadership and the AIAN SME on the development of a strategic vision and direction related to indigenous engagement. ·Partner with the program leadership and the AIAN SME to communicate the vision effectively and ensure the vision and work align with indigenous community needs. ·In collaboration with the AIAN SME, convene or join existing tribal leadership forums to support a strong accountability framework for the program within community leaders and partners. ·Collaborate with the program’s data analysts and evaluation team members to ensure appropriate and meaningful collaboration around data sharing and representation. ·Serve as an expert speaker, presenter and/or trainer both internally and externally. ·Uses the principles of QI internally to identify and implement better processes in partnership with the teams. ·Maintain advanced subject matter expertise regarding indigenous community engagement, quality improvement, change management, process improvement methodologies and theories. ·Maintains compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to the strategic plan, organizational structure, confidentiality, safety, and complaint/grievance resolution. ·Utilize the technology and systems used by the program such as customer relationship management (CRM), Microsoft Project Planner, etc. ·Understands and adheres to Comagine Health’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program and related policies and procedures. ·Performs related duties as required and assigned. Anticipated Travel: Most meetings with team members and external partners will be conducted virtually. Candidate may need to travel to indigenous communities or attend meetings and events outside of regular business hours and adapt to the unique needs and priorities of different tribes and communities. Anticipated percentage of travel for a program year is anticipated to be less than five percent. Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in public health, nursing, health care administration, public policy, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience may be substituted Years of Experience: 10 years of experience in health care, including quality improvement, hospital or long-term care administration, or clinical care, 7 years of project management experience. 5+ years of experience engaging directly with tribes and/or American Indian and/or Alaska Native populations (preferred). Specialized Competencies, Skills and Abilities: ·Demonstrated understanding and respect for the cultural heritage, traditions, and values of American Indian and/or Alaska Native populations. ·Demonstrated understanding of tribal health systems, policies, data reporting and traditional healing practices. ·Familiarity with tribal sovereignty and the relationship between tribes and federal/state agencies. ·Strategic understanding of the levers to transform health care delivery in settings such as Indian Health Service-managed facilities, Tribally managed facilities, hospitals, nursing homes and clinics, including demonstrated ability to work within and support the health care delivery system. ·Experience leading a team of professionals to meet specific contract obligations while providing value to community participants to retain engagement. ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with tribal leaders, community members, and external stakeholders in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner. ·Experience managing programs or large-scale projects, including project planning, budget creation and monitoring, managing teams, subcontractors and/or vendors. ·Experience facilitating or presenting at meetings with Tribal leaders and community partners around a shared vision and goal, presenting program concepts and results, sharing community health statistics or program level data. ·Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) ·Familiar with videoconference technology (e.g., Zoom or Teams). ·Theoretical and practical knowledge of quality improvement theory, methods, and tools; and systems thinking in health care improvement. Compensation and Benefits: As this is a remote position within the United States compensation will be based on experience as well as geographical location. Examples: Annualized 1.0 FTE salary. Alaska Residents Range: $135,000 $153,000 Ft.
