Position: CPA and Tax Associate (Trust and Estates) - Pasadena at Direct Counsel Pasadena, CA Job Description Senior Associate Attorney – Trusts & Estates Location: Pasadena, CA Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000/yr Hybrid or Remote work is available Overview Direct Counsel is representing a successful Business Defense firm seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience as a CPA and Tax Associate in Trusts & Estates law to join its Pasadena office. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated legal professional capable of receiving and managing work from a Partner, meeting billable expectations, and contributing to a high-performing team. This is a prime opportunity for an experienced attorney who is ready to take on sophisticated estate planning and administration work in a firm that values autonomy, accountability, and long-term growth. Key Responsibilities • Manage complex trust and estate matters, including planning, administration, and related disputes. • Collaborate directly with a Partner to execute legal strategies and deliver high-quality client service. • Maintain a minimum annual billable target of 1,800+ hours. • Draft estate planning documents and provide strategic advice to high-net-worth individuals and families. • Coordinate with clients, fiduciaries, tax advisors, and financial professionals. • Ensure compliance with applicable trust, probate, and tax laws. Qualifications • 5+ years of Trusts & Estates experience, preferably in a private practice or boutique law firm setting. • CPA Certification • Proficient in handling estate planning, trust administration, and probate litigation matters independently. • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills. • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to professional excellence. • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar.
