CPA / Advisory partner - Midwest | lower middle market business clients Role: We are looking for CPAs in various lower middle market client focused accounting, booking and tax firms interested to serve in advisory capacity to be part of buying and building the right accounting businesses as a group. The right professional knows the accounting industry well to help identify the right accounting firms in their region currently owned by senior professionals who might want to retire and transition their business sooner or later. The opportunity allows accounting professionals to own a piece of accounting businesses through pooled SPVs we organize for industry insiders to be part owners and grow together modernizing the practice for growing industry changes, LMM company succession and liquidity services and growth and liquidity related advisory solution we offer through our investment and advisory vehicle strategically. The company My Client is a tech-enabled platform democratizing access to skills and equity capital for private lower middle market companies at scale. They are interested to identify accounting practices that serve lower middle market companies and that offer strategic synergies to expand services and clients beyond typical accounting services to advisory solutions including: growth, liquidity and research services - in a way similar to serving larger public companies. The company uses technology to coordinate finance, operating and strategic advisory professional network to open access to skills and capital to otherwise underserved lower middle market companies. The system is designed to streamline and scale advisory services and enable smaller private companies to raise equity from a broader pool of insiders, operators, customers and smaller investors - beyond traditional private equity - and create employment and wealth creation opportunities for Main Street Americans. Responsibilities: • Identifying and sourcing accounting firms in the $3-$10 million revenue range owned by older CPAs that might want to exit in the near term • Accountants and CPAs that can participate typical CPA firm work: auditing, accounting, outsourced bookkeeping, CFO, tax and related services • Financial analysis, Valuation, earnings quality and M&A related work - optional • Financial due Diligence: Collaborate with the deal team to conduct thorough due diligence on potential acquisitions. This includes assessing industry trends, competitive positioning, customer relationships, operational efficiency, and potential risks • Ability to run a CPA firm that may be acquired as part of transition • Integration of accounting firms • Entrepreneurial mindset • knowledge of technology stack for accounting firms to help automate old accounting firms Additional services we provide via growth advisory and investment • Investment Execution: preparing investment memorandums, coordinating with legal and financial advisors, conducting negotiations, and assisting in the structuring of deals. • Support ongoing management: including monitoring financial performance, conducting performance reviews, identifying value creation opportunities, and providing strategic guidance to acquisition targets • Industry Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the accounting space Qualifications / Requirements • Industry knowledge and professional network • Deep working knowledge of the lower middle market ecosystem (banks, principals of accounting firms, law firm partners etc) • Ability and desire to leverage your professional network to identify leads • Intellectual honesty • Determination to solve problems, help businesses, and build a dominant player in the segment.
