Vanguard is taking steps to bolster its Security posture as it relates to Cyber resiliency across infrastructure, cloud and application security. The goal being to anticipate, withstand, adapt to and rapidly recover from the growing cyber threats facing Vanguard. Cyber Resiliency is a key pillar in our overall Operational Resiliency strategy. A key initiative within the Cyber Resiliency program to define a policy, set of standards, control procedures and production acceptance criteria to ensure our systems are meeting the Cyber Resiliency goals. Vanguard is looking for a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer with a strong background in application development, and cloud architecture (AWS) to join the Cyber resiliency program to work alongside architects from our CTO, ES&F (Enterprise Security & Fraud) and GTO (Global Technology Operations). The primary responsibility of this role is to develop automated solutions to measure team’s adherence to Cyber resiliency requirements working in alignment with the Global Production Assurance Office. Through alignment with GPAO, solutions will be delivered through Vanguard’s Policy Engine enabling assurance across Enterprise Cyber and Technology Resiliency Requirements. Initially this role will be dedicated to the Cyber resiliency Program with a view to be permanently situated in the GPAO team for the long-term curation and delivery of Tech & Cyber Policy Engine solutions. Provides expert level technical support for the most critical projects. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware or software issues for new and existing technologies and tools. Core Responsibilities 1. Plans and implements new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects. Designs, implements, and deploys cloud computing systems to support and meet business needs. Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions. 2. Provides expert level technical support and ensures reliable operation of cloud production. Diagnoses and troubleshoots the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms. 3. Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products. Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime 4. Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents. 5. Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs. 6. Trains and mentors more junior staff on processes and technologies. Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department. 7. Administers system activities. Writes the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Performs systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design. 8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Minimum of eight years related work experience. • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
