This role will focus on delivering scalable and high-performance data and AI solutions to support Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Revenue management teams. About the Role As a Data Engineering Manager, Commercial, you will be responsible for leading the development and operation of advanced data and AI platforms that drive our commercial organization's success. You will have a strong background in data engineering, AI/ML, and experience leading cross-functional teams to create impactful business outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, developing, and executing end-to-end solutions that drive business results. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining all application software and data pipelines for real-time/batch analysis, modeling, reporting, and data collection, ensuring data reliability, efficiency, and quality. Collaborate effectively with other groups in FedEx Dataworks, including Data Science, E-Commerce Products, Supply Chain Solutions, Platform Engineering, and Enterprise Commercial teams, to deliver high-value platform-enhancing capabilities and customer-centered solutions. Ensure delivery teams build, deploy, and maintain data processing infrastructure that supports complex analysis across data science, product, application development, and strategic teams. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all data processes. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Commercial data management and integrate them into our data engineering processes. Ensure adherence to best practices to ensure reliability, resiliency, security, privacy, and compliance for all data assets. Coach and mentor other team members to drive results and effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver business goals. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery. Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and key metrics. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Engineering and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Seven (7) years equivalent work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem-solving, simulation development, and/or predictive analytics. Extensive knowledge in data engineering and machine learning frameworks, including design, development, and implementation of highly complex systems and data pipelines. Strong understanding of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies. Experience providing leadership in a general planning or consulting setting. Experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-function project teams. Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in data engineering, with a focus on commercial data products. Compelling track record of designing and deploying large-scale technical solutions that deliver tangible, ongoing value. Strong background and experience in the use of sophisticated descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, and ensemble modeling, advanced statistical techniques, and complex mathematical tools. Ability to context-switch to provide support to dispersed teams to unblock especially challenging technical obstacles, and to work through problems as they are still being defined. A design mindset embracing ambiguity combined with an engineering mindset willing to make rapid, pragmatic decisions to improve performance and accelerate progress. Experience in the transportation industry and understanding of evolving technology. Familiarity with analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured data using Scala and Python. Experience working in Big Data technologies like Spark, Kafka, etc., with a solid understanding of best practices. Development experience within Cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud platform.
