Director, AI & Automation Capabilities

Job Description: • Leads employees and cross-functional teams by supporting, coaching, training, and assisting with time management; provides strategic coaching, career development, and thought leadership to grow product thinking and delivery excellence across roles and levels. Conducts regular meetings with all direct reports and performs evaluations. • Partners with business leaders to understand strategic objectives and ensure capability portfolio aligns with their objectives and enterprise IT strategic goals. • Owns the financial performance of the capability portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization. • Defines and upholds governance structures to ensure transparency, prioritization, and alignment across initiatives. • Oversees resource planning and capacity management to ensure the right mix of technical and analytical skills are available to meet delivery needs. • Supports adoption and change readiness across the portfolio by aligning with business partners, enabling communication and training strategies, and ensuring teams are prepared for successful rollout and sustained use • Defines and ensures KPI execution to measure the value, efficiency gains, and impact of capabilities across the portfolio. Uses data-driven insights to adjust portfolio strategy, delivery methods, and team performance. • Champions agile ways of working by fostering a culture of transparency and iterative delivery, while using agile metrics to support team maturity and continuous improvement. • Oversees delivery execution across the portfolio by identifying and resolving complex, cross-functional challenges, interdependencies and risks that impact portfolio delivery. • Serves as a strategic advisor and point of contact for executive leadership and provides regular updates to executive leadership on portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities, ensuring alignment between business goals and IT investments. Requirements: • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed, enterprise environment. • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product development lifecycle. • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, resources, and delivery pipelines. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills. • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field required. Masters degree is a plus. • Experience with AI, machine learning, robotic process automation (RPA), or enterprise automation initiatives preferred. • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, or related leadership required; Healthcare industry experience is a plus but not required.
