Overview The Director, IT PMO is responsible for establishing and leading a high-performing Project Management Office (PMO) that drives strategic execution, governance, and delivery excellence across the organization. This role ensures that project management practices are standardized, scalable, and aligned with business goals and Gallagher standards. In this role, you will champion continuous improvement, foster collaboration, and make visible project performance, risks, and value realization. You can be fully remote/virtual/work from home and you can sit anywhere in the US or Canada. How you'll make an impact • Strategic Leadership • Refining and furthering implementation of the GBS IT PMO vision, operating model, and governance framework • Aligning GBS IT PMO strategy with organizational goals and transformation initiatives. • Leading the development of project portfolio management practices and tools. • Project Governance and Delivery • Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide projects and programs. • Refining project/program/product methodologies and ensuring compliance. • Monitoring project KPIs, budgets, timelines, and resource utilization. • Responsible for the divisional change advisory board. • Team Management and Capability Building • Recruiting, mentoring, and managing a team of project and program managers. • Promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning. • Driving development of onboarding, training, and certification programs for GBS IT PMO team and project managers. • Stakeholder Engagement • Serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on project prioritization and risk mitigation. • Ensuring effective communication and reporting across all levels of the organization. • Managing communications and change management strategies for relevant stakeholders. • Interfacing with other leaders and stakeholders within IT and throughout the business. • Performance and Value Measurement • Driving implementation of PMO dashboards and other reporting tools to track performance and outcomes. • Driving adoption of Planview and other technologies/tool for process compliance, and documentation management. • Collecting feedback and continuously refine PMO processes and capabilities. About You • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. • PMP required; additional certifications such as Agile, SAFe LPM, PROSCI, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus. • 10+ years of strong program and project management experience focused on organizing, planning, and executing large-scale, cross-organizational projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors, • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role. • Proven experience in establishing and scaling PMOs in complex, matrixed environments. • Advanced understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (ie, PMI, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile) including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and run team meetings. • Experience with project portfolio management tools such as Planview and enterprise reporting platforms. • Demonstrated experience using Azure DevOps for project delivery, tracking, and collaboration. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Demonstrated effective relationship management and ability to influence key decision makers. • Creative thinker who can quickly adjust between strategy and execution as well as adapt to dynamic needs that may arise • Strong vendor negotiation and partnering skills with experience in outsourcing and offshore development. #LI-DK3 #LI-Remote Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
