Director of Portfolio Strategy, Upstream Marketing (REMOTE)
About the position The Director of Portfolio Strategy (Upstream Marketing) at Cordis is responsible for defining and aligning the overall innovation portfolio across the organization. This role involves understanding the business, market segments, customer needs, and distribution channels to drive product development and execution strategies. The Director will lead monthly Portfolio Strategy Meetings with the Executive Leadership Team, focusing on opportunity assessments, capital allocation, and project execution, ensuring alignment across various stakeholders and driving team execution on defined strategies. Responsibilities • Build deep understanding of the Cordis business and target markets. • Drive broad strategies to meet stakeholder needs and overall corporate goals. • Support development of pipeline strategies by sales team verticals. • Partner with VP of Marketing, VP of Transformation and VP of FP&A to drive capital allocation analysis and prioritization. • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product differentiation. • Collaborate with R&D partners and cross-functional teams to drive the development of devices that deliver commercial value. • Lead the creation and execution of go-to-market strategies for new product launches. • Assess annually the performance and demand for key product families and determine target products for end-of-life planning. • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Oversee marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives. Requirements • Bachelor's degree, preferably an MBA focused on business or marketing, or significant relevant commercial experience within the Medical Device space. • 5+ years of experience leading direct and cross-functional teams, building and executing commercial strategies. • Deep experience related to interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, or interventional radiology markets. • Demonstrated success driving portfolio planning and product definition. • Experience working globally in a virtual environment across multiple countries/regions. Nice-to-haves • Experience developing/refining product launch SOPs and work instructions. • Proven ability to develop new R&D projects/business programs that positively impact the business trajectory. • Targeted global/international roles that demonstrate ability to think and execute broadly.
