If you are ready to make a lasting difference while advancing your professional journey, read on. Key Responsibilities – What Your Day Will Look Like Instruction & Curriculum Delivery Design, plan, and deliver age‑appropriate dance classes ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, ensuring alignment with YMCA standards for safety, inclusivity, and skill progression. Integrate foundational techniques, choreography, improvisation, and cultural dance forms to foster artistic diversity and student engagement. Utilize progressive teaching strategies—visual demonstrations, verbal cues, tactile feedback—to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities. Maintain a safe, supportive environment by consistently monitoring the studio floor, enforcing proper warm‑up and cool‑down protocols, and adapting activities for participants with special needs. Student & Family Engagement Build authentic, positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians, serving as a trusted mentor and role model. Respond promptly to inquiries regarding class content, progression, and performance goals, offering individualized guidance to maximize each participant’s growth. Encourage parental involvement through open house events, showcase performances, and volunteer opportunities, strengthening the home‑gym partnership. Facilitate constructive feedback loops, using progress reports and attendance records to celebrate achievements and identify areas for improvement. Program Administration & Coordination Maintain meticulous class documentation, including attendance logs, skill assessments, and incident reports, in accordance with YMCA privacy and data‑security policies. Coordinate and communicate class schedules, special workshops, and community dance festivals with internal teams and external partners. Prepare studio spaces before each session—arranging mats, mirrors, sound equipment, and safety barriers—and ensure clean‑up and equipment storage afterwards. Inspect dance gear and facilities regularly, reporting any damage or maintenance needs to the Operations Manager. Leadership & Community Outreach Serve as a cause‑driven leader, modeling YMCA values of respect, responsibility, and caring in every interaction.
