The Role: Editorial Assistant (Part-time, Remote) As an Editorial Assistant, you will report to the Director of Publishing Development and provide essential support to the Publishing Team. Your primary responsibilities will include: Submission Review: Review submissions to ensure they meet ethical standards and align with our publication's guidelines. Peer Review and Production Management: Manage articles through the peer review and production processes, ensuring timely publication and maintaining high-quality standards. Communication and Support: Communicate with authors, editors, and conference organizers, providing guidance on publishing processes and addressing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks that support the success of the Conference Proceedings program, such as data entry, record-keeping, and other tasks as needed. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: Essential Qualifications: Editorial Experience: 2+ years of editorial experience in a publishing or related field. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with authors, editors, and other stakeholders. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Teamwork: Team player with the ability to adapt to changing situations and work collaboratively with others. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Publishing Processes: Experience with publishing processes, including peer review, production, and content management. Knowledge of Physical Sciences: Familiarity with the physical sciences, either through academic or professional experience. Project Management Skills: Experience with project management tools and techniques, such as Asana, Trello, or similar software.
