Electrical Engineer
Tenova is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical & Automation Engineering team, focusing on the design and execution of electrical and control systems for industrial furnace projects primarily in the steel industry. This early-career role involves technical design, collaboration across functions, and managing complex industrial projects from concept through execution. Responsibilities Reviewing contract requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure project compliance Developing electrical design deliverables, including drawing and document lists and design schedules Designing electrical power distribution and control systems for industrial furnace applications Performing electrical calculations for proper sizing and validation of components Selecting electrical and control equipment based on operating conditions, safety requirements, applicable codes, and cost considerations Preparing technical specifications and requisitions for electrical and control system components Reviewing and approving vendor technical submittals Coordinating with mechanical, automation, and project engineering teams to ensure integrated system design Overseeing the development of electrical drawings produced by designers or external partners Supporting Project Managers with technical input throughout project execution Preparing project documentation such as operating manuals, maintenance documentation, and technical reports Ensuring compliance with Tenova procedures, ISO standards, and applicable electrical codes Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license 1–5 years of experience in electrical engineering roles related to industrial or heavy-industrial projects Solid knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and industrial control instrumentation Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across concurrent projects Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microsoft Project Exposure to EPC or EPCM project environments Experience in the steel, metals, or industrial furnace industry Knowledge of an additional foreign language Benefits 80% company-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Short-Term (100%) and Long-Term Disability (60%) On-site fitness center Employee Assistance Program 401(k) (Roth and Pre-tax) with 5% company match Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for healthcare/dependent care Flexible scheduling & up to 320 hours of remote work per year Up to 20 vacation days, 10 paid holidays, and floating holidays Paid parental leave (10 weeks for primary caregivers) Paid memberships in professional associations Referral bonuses up to $3,000 LegalShield legal assistance plan ICP Yearly Bonus Company Overview Tenova develops innovative solutions for metals and mining industries.
