This role will provide strategic and practical legal guidance on HR-related issues, policy development, and employment agreements, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Key Responsibilities • Advise HR and leadership on employment law matters, including investigations and compliance issues. • Draft, review, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and related documentation. • Prepare and negotiate separation agreements, retention agreements, and other employment-related contracts. • Assist with internal investigations and provide recommendations for resolution. • Support overflow legal work related to employment and labor law. • Collaborate with HR, compliance, and business leaders to mitigate risk and ensure best practices. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. • 5+ years of experience in employment law, preferably in-house or with a focus on insurance/financial services. • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations. • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
