Engineer III – Cyber Incident Response

Job Title – Engineer III – Cyber Incident Response Location – Remote in Pennsylvania Role Type – Contract to hire Must Have Skills: • 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in incident response or SOC operations • Strong knowledge of incident response methodologies, digital forensics, and adversary tactics • Experience with security tools (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, forensic analysis tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, EnCase, Wireshark) • Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27035) Responsibilities and Job Details: • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex cyber security incidents (APTs, ransomware, phishing, insider threats) • Perform forensic analysis across endpoints, network, and cloud environments to determine root causes and incident scope • Develop and refine incident response playbooks, runbooks, and detection use cases • Collaborate with threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and defensive teams to bolster security posture • Serve as a technical escalation point for junior analysts during major incident investigations • Contribute to red‑team/purple‑team exercises and after‑action reviews to improve capabilities and processes • Mentor and train junior engineers on incident response best practices and investigative methods Apply tot his job
