The External Support Engineer role is a critical component of this mission, serving as the primary point of contact between external content creation teams and the internal tools engineering team. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to content and external teams, creating reference materials, and delivering training to ensure seamless adoption of the toolset. The key responsibilities of this role include: Providing technical support to content and external teams in regards to the use of content tools, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing downtime. Creating comprehensive reference materials and delivering training sessions to get external teams up to speed with the toolset, promoting efficiency and productivity. Solving and debugging possible issues with tools and workflows, utilizing problem-solving skills to quickly resolve issues for users and ensure a smooth content creation process. Escalating more complex or problematic issues to the tool development team, collaborating with production to track these issues in JIRA, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. Advocating for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Partnering with other engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality, driving the development of new features and functionalities. Guiding or leading cross-disciplinary dialogs to drive features from initial concept to completion, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and aligned throughout the development process. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following essential qualifications: A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in programming principles and software development. Experience supporting a live service or tool environment, with a proven track record of providing technical support and resolving complex issues in a fast-paced environment. Unity 3D game and tool development experience, with a strong understanding of game development principles and practices. Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software, with the ability to utilize these tools to track and manage issues effectively. iOS and Android mobile development experience, with a strong understanding of mobile development principles and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with external partners and stakeholders. A positive attitude and the ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: 5 years of experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment, with a proven track record of developing high-quality software applications. Experience with C# code, with the ability to read and understand C# code and apply this knowledge in a practical context. Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, with a strong understanding of the importance of collaboration and communication in driving project success.
