Estimator - USACE / NAVFAC Federal Projects (Remote)

Position: Estimator – USACE / NAVFAC Federal Projects Location: Maryland / East Coast (Remote) Salary: $125K to $160K DOE – Level and salary determined by experience and internal alignment Doyon Government Group (DGG) provides Design-Build and General Construction Services for demolition, new construction, renovations, repairs, and civil projects at government-owned facilities and military installations. We are seeking an experienced Estimator – Federal Construction to prepare cost estimates, support bidding, and guide project pricing decisions. This position may supervise estimating operations depending on department size and supports federal construction project management through accurate, detailed estimates. Key Responsibilities • Prepare estimates for commercial building, civil, and public works construction projects • Develop project schedules and allocate costs across phases • Collaborate with construction and project managers on budgets and cost planning • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and create itemized lists • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, vendor selection, and bid submissions • Conduct studies to develop standard hours and cost data, identify efficiencies • Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve estimating issues • Maintain a centralized cost estimating database and ensure historical data utilization • Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and identify discrepancies • Recommend improvements to cost estimating procedures and identify trends for cost reduction • Supervise and mentor estimators, project engineers, and other staff within the estimating department • Support employee development and department growth • Ensure compliance with EEO/AA and federal enforcement standards • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience as a construction estimator on USACE, NAVFAC, or similar federal projects • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant experience preferred • 10 years cumulative construction estimating experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff software and Microsoft Excel • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail • Excellent communication and computer skills • Experience with federal construction projects required Why Doyon Government Group • Competitive pay DOE with level determined by experience • Remote work with nationwide federal project opportunities • Professional development and mentoring • Supportive, collaborative team environment Equal Opportunity Employer Doyon Government Group complies with all non-discrimination obligations, including the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act Company DescriptionTrusted Construction Experts for Federal and Military Projects Doyon Government Group Doyon Management Services and Doyon Technical Services are 8(a) minority-owned small disadvantaged businesses and wholly owned subsidiaries of Doyon Government Group (DGG).
