Our Airport Customer Service team plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our customers, and we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-Op to join our team as a Health, Safety, and Ergonomics Specialist. Job Summary and Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will support the Airport Customer Service department in developing and implementing processes to reduce workplace injuries and improve overall health and safety. This role will focus on analyzing and improving the work environment, technology, and job processes for our frontline employees, with the goal of reducing the Global Injury Rate for the department and the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, ergonomics, or a related field, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Support the development and implementation of procedures to reduce the risk of employee injuries and aircraft damage Assist in the management of large-scale technology initiatives related to ergonomic improvement Lead and participate in ergonomic-related studies across the organization Support daily operations and management of existing programs related to Health and Safety or Ergonomics Foster a culture where safety is a core value by providing support, training, accountability, and recognition Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational/Industrial Health, Biomechanics/Kinesiology, Aviation/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn, interpret, and apply various regulations, codes, and guidelines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization A strong commitment to safety and health, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, and to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be an asset: Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and the ability to analyze and interpret injury and behavior data Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership A strong understanding of ergonomics and occupational health and safety principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
