As a Sortation Center Team Member, you'll be responsible for sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets, ensuring that customer orders are prepared for delivery efficiently and effectively. About the Role As a Sortation Center Team Member, you'll be part of a dedicated team that works together to achieve our goals. Key Responsibilities Receive and sort inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of packages Get customer orders ready for delivery, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets Use technology like scanners, computers, and handheld printers to track and manage packages Lift up to 49 pounds, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts, demonstrating physical stamina and flexibility Utilize carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around the Sortation Center, ensuring safe and efficient operations Work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable), following safety guidelines and protocols Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications: Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks during shifts Capacity to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach for extended periods Basic computer skills and familiarity with technology like scanners and handheld printers Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols Flexibility to work varying shifts, including part-time schedules, and adjust your availability as needed Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications can enhance your performance and success in this role: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment Familiarity with Amazon's operations and processes Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision What to Expect at an Amazon Sortation Center At Amazon, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees.
