About the Substitute Teacher Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Fair Haven, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects to students of different ages and skill levels Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Experience with classroom management and behavior support Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong teaching and classroom management skills Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our substitutes.
