Role Overview We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Augusta, NJ. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher, following the lesson plans and curriculum provided Manage the classroom environment, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all students Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive learning community Provide individualized support to students as needed, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of the classroom Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, keeping them informed of student progress and any issues that may arise Participate in professional development opportunities, seeking out ways to improve teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in education Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Excellent communication and interpersonal skills What We Offer At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
