About the Role In this exciting opportunity, you'll be part of the central AV group in the core OS team, responsible for developing and maintaining device drivers and firmware for DP and HDMI displays. Your expertise in writing and debugging complex drivers and associated frameworks will be essential in driving the success of our display technologies. You'll work closely with multiple cross-functional teams to develop new features, debug issues, and ensure smooth interoperability with various hardware and software components. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain device drivers for display technologies, including DP and HDMI displays Collaborate with firmware teams to ensure standards-compliant interfacing and support debug SW/FW/HW issues Work closely with multiple cross-functional teams to develop new features, debug issues, and ensure smooth interoperability Conduct schematic and code reviews to ensure high-quality and reliable code Bring up new hardware and ensure smooth integration with existing systems Debug issues found by customers and QA, and develop fixes and workarounds as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to have: Experience with writing and debugging complex drivers and associated frameworks Experience with device driver development, preferably in a Unix-based environment Knowledge of C and C++ programming languages Established innovative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills Proven ability to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules Excellent collaborative and communication skills, both written and verbal Experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience/skills Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we're looking for candidates with: Experience with AV technologies, such as HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, HDCP, and others Knowledge of remote control technologies, including Infrared (IR) and Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) Development experience in IOKit/macOS Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess: Strong technical skills, with a deep understanding of device driver development and display technologies Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and tight deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
