As an Area Manager, you will play a vital role in leading a team of hourly workforce, driving safety, quality, attendance, and performance, while ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location. Job Summary As an Area Manager at Amazon Fulfillment Center LGA9, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly workforce and collaborating with various support teams to achieve business objectives. You will be expected to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance, while ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location. Key Responsibilities and Job Elements Team Leadership: Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce to achieve exceptional results Operations Management: Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises to ensure exceptional customer experiences Collaboration: Collaborate with all support teams, including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources, to develop plans to meet business objectives Physical Demands: Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, while standing/walking for up to 12 hours during shifts Work Environment: Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud, and where the temperature and weather conditions may vary Continuous Improvement: Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs) and adapt to changing workflows and processes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading a team of hourly workforce in a fast-paced operations environment Operations Management: Experience in managing safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises in a logistics or supply chain environment Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing workflows, processes, and priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Amazon Experience: Experience working in an Amazon fulfillment center or similar logistics environment Supply Chain Knowledge: Knowledge of supply chain principles and practices, including inventory management, transportation, and logistics Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with inventory management systems and other logistics software Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as OSHA or Six Sigma, will be highly regarded Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing workflows, processes, and priorities in a fast-paced environment Customer Focus: Strong customer focus, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences Career Growth Opportunities At Amazon, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
