Position Overview • Job Title: Biology Tutor • Location: North Canton, OH (Main Campus) and Akron Campus, with some online hours available • Start Date: Immediate openings available • Compensation: Competitive salary ($14.81 - $19.99 per hour) • Hours of Work: Up to 29 hours per week, with flexible scheduling (Mon-Thu 10:00am-5:00pm, Fri-Sat 10:00am-2:00pm, Sun-Thu 4:00pm-10:00pm) Key Responsibilities • Engage students and provide systematic and consistent learning support services in a positive and efficient manner • Assist students with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, study methods, and technology needed to complete course-related material • Greet students and visitors, and provide general information about the college and its services • Tutoring will take place primarily in-person at the main campus or Akron location, with online tutoring available based on hourly needs • Collaborate with faculty to ensure students receive comprehensive support • Utilize technology, including Microsoft Office Applications, to enhance tutoring sessions Requirements and Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree: In biology or a closely related field (e.g., medical degree, chiropractor, exercise physiology, or physical therapy) • Preferred Coursework: Anatomy or physiology • Skills and Competencies: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to relate to a diverse student population with ingenuity, creativity, and compassion • Comfort with technology usage, including Microsoft Office Applications • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills What We Offer • Competitive Salary: $14.81 - $19.99 per hour • Comprehensive Benefits: • Part-time employees receive state pension/retirement (OPERS/STRS) • Paid Stark State tuition • Employee assistance program • Opportunities for Growth: Professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and career • Supportive Work Environment: Collaborative and inclusive work environment with a focus on student success Why Join Our Team?
