About Our ICU Department Our 18-bed ICU is located on the 2nd floor of the East tower at Sanford Health Broadway Hospital in the heart of downtown Fargo. While we have a focus on Oncology, we see a variety of medical and surgical ICU patients, including complex surgical cases that require ICU care, kidney transplants, and bone marrow transplants. As an Academic Teaching Facility, you can expect to receive education and experience with all these types of patients, as well as your typical Medical ICU patients. Key Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients Collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting Care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care Plan and coordinate care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Graduation from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) A current, unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state Obtaining and subsequently maintaining required department-specific competencies and certifications Preferred Qualifications While not required, we prefer candidates with: A Bachelor's Degree in nursing Previous experience in critical care or ICU nursing Certifications in critical care nursing, such as CCRN or CNML Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need: Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Sanford Health, we are committed to helping our nurses grow and develop in their careers.
