About the Role As a Custom Circuits Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing custom circuits to improve chip power efficiency, working closely with cross-functional teams to define specifications and requirements. Your key responsibilities will include: Fostering custom circuits to improve chip power efficiency and drive innovation Collaborating with power teams, PD, and designers to define specifications and requirements Performing design, analysis, modeling/simulation, circuit-level specifications, schematic capture, spice simulation/layout check across PVT, statistical design, functional verification, and silicon bring-up Working closely with the layout team to complete the design and govern design quality Creating and driving circuit methodologies to achieve the highest design quality metrics Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to have: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines) At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in custom circuit design Experience in designing low-voltage, low-power custom circuits Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: AI accelerators, SRAM circuits, non-volatile memories, weak/moderate inversion circuits, ultra-low power amplifiers, DC/DC converters, advanced on-chip sensors, high-speed timing, time-to-digital converters (TDCs) Strong understanding of deep submicron device physics, leakage mechanisms, technology interactions with device behavior Excellent knowledge of device matching, device noise sources (1/f, thermal), external noise sources (supply, jitter), and their impact on high-precision circuits Ability to conduct experiments during silicon debug, manufacturing, and analyzing data; and using scripting to support efficient processing of ATE data Familiarity with hierarchical schematic check and behavioral models for hierarchical schematic blocks Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Perl or others) and CAD automation tools Knowledge of industry-standard circuit and design tools Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Experience working with advanced technology nodes Knowledge of Apple's product lines and technologies Experience with collaborative design and development methodologies What We Offer At Apple, we're committed to creating a work environment that's inclusive, diverse, and supportive.
