Job Overview The Customer Service and Sales Representative role at blithequark is a dynamic and multifaceted position that requires a unique blend of customer service, sales, and product knowledge skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service to our customers, assessing their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements. Your goal will be to greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales with every customer in your department, while also maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service by actively seeking out customers, assessing their needs, and providing personalized solutions and recommendations Learn about blithequark's products and services using our tools and technologies, and provide expert information to customers to drive sales and promote our products Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring that the store is clean, shop-able, and safe for customers and employees Work in cooperation with the Department Supervisor and other associates in the department, as well as other departments, to achieve sales and customer service goals Handle basics in adjacent departments, and be knowledgeable about products and services offered in these areas Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty Work safely and efficiently to minimize risks to yourself, co-workers, vendors, and customers Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of customer service, sales, and product knowledge skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work in a fast-paced retail environment, think critically and make sound judgments, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and previous experience in customer service, sales, or retail is preferred.
