Job Overview and Responsibilities In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our customers, responding to and resolving their inquiries and issues on the first call. Your exceptional communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities will enable you to guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care topics, helping them select the best benefit plan options and maximize the value of their health plan benefits. As a Customer Service Benefit Advocate, your key responsibilities will include: Responding to and resolving customer service inquiries and issues by identifying the topic and type of assistance the caller needs, such as benefits, eligibility, and claims, financial spending accounts, and correspondence Helping guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care topics to select the best benefit plan options, maximize the value of their health plan benefits, and choose a quality care provider Contacting care providers (doctor's offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance Assisting customers in navigating blithequark's websites and encouraging and reassuring them to become self-sufficient Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities, including: High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience Must be 18 years of age OR older Minimum of 6+ months of customer service experience Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications Ability to work in a full-time remote overnight position (40 hours / week), Monday – Friday, with an 8-hour shift schedule between the hours of 8:00 pm – 8:00 am EST, including weekends and a few holidays Preferred qualifications include experience in a health care / insurance environment, familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design, as well as social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change experience working with vulnerable populations. As a new Customer Service Benefit Advocate, you will participate in 18 weeks of comprehensive training, which will be conducted virtually from your home. The training will cover a range of topics, including our products and services, customer service skills, and computer system applications. You will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and leaders, who will provide guidance and support throughout your training and beyond. Telecommuting Requirements As a remote worker, you will need to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy. You will also need to have a reliable high-speed internet connection and be able to keep all company-sensitive documents secure. Additionally, you will be required to adhere to blithequark's Telecommuter Policy and maintain the confidentiality and security of customer and company information. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits At blithequark, we offer a competitive compensation package, which includes a hourly rate of $16.88 to $33.22 per hour, based on full-time employment.
