Job Overview and Responsibilities In this role, you will be the face of Aetna, interacting with members, providers, and other stakeholders to address their questions, concerns, and issues. Your primary responsibilities will include: Responding to member inquiries and resolving issues via phone, web, or written correspondence Engaging, consulting, and educating members on Aetna plans, tools, and resources to guide them on their path to care Addressing complex member requests and escalating emergencies to appropriate staff Reporting and tracking contacts with members, providers, and plan sponsors Guiding members through their plan benefits, Aetna policies, and procedures, as well as awareness of resources to comply with regulatory requirements Building a deep connection with our members by understanding and engaging them to advocate for their best health Taking ownership to understand member needs by building a trusting and caring relationship with the member Anticipating client needs and providing relevant information to address unasked questions Explaining member rights and responsibilities as per contract Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: 1 year of recent customer support experience in a transaction-based call center environment Residency in the state of North Carolina (note: the original job description mentioned Florida, but we assume this is an error since the job is located in Charlotte, NC) Demonstrated ability to be empathetic and compassionate Experience in a production environment Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred: Ability to multitask to efficiently accomplish tasks Understanding of medical terminology Verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain accuracy and production standards Problem-solving skills Attention to detail and precision Analytical skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Aetna, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
