Key Responsibilities Offer friendly assistance to and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our organization Provide exceptional customer service to individuals seeking to travel, use cargo or baggage services by handling their needs in a professional and efficient manner Handle all aspects of ticketing and check-in by operating an automated retail system, boarding, baggage services, reservations, and resolving related complaints and issues Responsibilities include greeting and handling customers in a courteous and friendly manner, handling cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment for tickets, processing charges, making change, and balancing daily transactions Check in baggage and cargo, answer phone calls to provide information to guests, page customers, resolve issues or complaints, and assist as needed Handle transactions required to board the aircraft in an efficient and timely manner Manage upset customers due to oversells, delayed or canceled flights, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage, and resolve such issues quickly and within guidelines established by the organization Provide current and accurate admission, schedule, reservations, flight arrival/departure information, and answer general questions from customers and other visitors to the airport Complete forms and reports as required by the organization Prepare discrepancy and complaint reports as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should be able to type or use a computer keyboard with adequate speed to meet the needs of the job, understand documents, follow instructions, learn and understand ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations. Preferred Qualifications While not required, preferred qualifications include previous experience in customer service, airline operations, or a related field. You should be able to work effectively in a team environment, meet the public, and work under stressful conditions. You should also be able to complete the Customer Service Specialist training program with an 80% or greater average and a probationary period. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. You should be able to cooperate with others as part of a team, meet the public, and work under stressful conditions. You should also be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies on a case-by-case basis.
