Job Overview and Key Responsibilities As a Ticket/Gate Agent at blithequark, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, greeting them, guiding them to where they need to go, and assisting them with their ticketing and baggage check-in process. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the aviation industry, with our leaders providing mentorship to help you advance. Your responsibilities will include: Owning the check-in process, boarding process, and seat availability, including making gate announcements and ensuring customers have the accurate travel documentation. Tagging and lifting baggage from scales to conveyor belts, with some bags weighing up to 70 pounds. Operating loading bridges and opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors. Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport. Scheduling is based on operational needs, with shifts ranging from early morning to overnight. You will work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. Each station is different, based on its individual flight schedule. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to: Prioritize the safety and security of yourself, others, and personal data. Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles. Hold a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Be at least 18 years old and have authorization to work in the United States. Be proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation. Possess basic digital literacy. Pass a physical ability test (PAT) and a Customer Service Assessment. Ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal. Preferred Qualifications While there are no specific preferred qualifications for this role, any relevant experience or skills that demonstrate your ability to provide exceptional customer service and work effectively in a fast-paced airport environment will be an asset.
